Haunted Happenings Marketplace

This October, join Creative Collective at the Haunted Happenings Marketplace. This event will take place each weekend at the Salem Common, so you’ll have plenty of opportunities to attend! You’ll find local vendors, performances, murals, and more. Visit the Haunted Happenings Marketplace to see a list of fan favorite artisans. 

Halloween Ball

Have you really been to Salem if you haven’t attended a Hocus Pocus style costume ball? The best part, you have TWO events to choose from: Wicked Night on the Wharf (Saturday, October 30, 8pm) OR The Official Salem Witches’ Halloween Ball (Saturday, October 30, 7:30pm). Join in the fun with an evening of hors d’oeuvres, music, dancing, and a costume contest. 

Halloween Night and Finale Fireworks

Enjoy a full day of live music, performances, costumes, food and more! With a full schedule, you’ll find an activity everyone will enjoy. End your spook-tacular evening with fireworks over the North River. The show will start at 10:15pm, and visitors can plan to depart at 10:30pm as this display will conclude the evening. House of Seven Gables

This seaside mansion was built in 1668 for Captain John Turner I and later inherited by the second cousin of Nathaniel Hawthorne in 1804. This house later inspired Hawthorne’s famous novel, The House of the Seven Gables, in 1851. Today, visitors can purchase tickets to a 45-minute guided tour, or a self-guided exploration of the grounds and gardens.

Peabody Essex Museum

The PEM offers a wide variety of art from the 1700s to present day. With pieces from all over the world, and ever-changing exhibits, the PEM has something for all ages to enjoy. Purchase tickets to their latest exhibit, The Salem Witch Trials: Reckoning and Reclaiming. “In this exhibition, learn more about factors that fueled the storied crisis, including individuals who rose to defend those unjustly accused, and explore two creative responses by contemporary artists with ancestral links to the trials.” 

Salem Witch Museum 

The Salem Witch Museum offers two presentations for visitors to choose from. “The first presentation provides an immersive look into the events of 1692. Visitors experience the drama of that dark time through thirteen life-size stage sets, figures, lighting and narration as they are witness to the web of lies and intrigue of the Salem witch-hunt. The second exhibit, Witches: Evolving Perceptions, focuses on the European witch trials and the background leading to the Salem witch trials. In addition, this presentation discusses the emergence of the stereotypical witch and the frightening phenomenon of witch-hunting.” Head over to their website to book your experience!

The Witch House

The Jonathan Corwin House, also known as ‘The Witch House‘, is the only remaining structure in Salem with direct ties to the events of 1692. This highly photographed house is a great example of 17th-century architecture in the area. Guests are able to explore some of the history, furnishings, and superstition surrounding the Salem Witch Trials.
